Sushi Daisuki

A small Church Street sushi room, open since June 2026

Sushi Daisuki opened on Church Street in June 2026, on the block between Market and 15th that has become the Castro's better eating strip. It's a small room, and it takes orders for pickup as well as seated service.

The corridor runs on neighborhood repeat business rather than destination traffic. The restaurants that last here are the ones people can walk to twice a week, and Daisuki is priced and sized for exactly that, not for an occasion.

Always very good and reasonably priced, this had become my go to sushi spot in the neighborhood!

The atmosphere is okay but service was bad (long waits for a small restaurant, never refilled our water, etc.). They give you a free bowl of miso soup, which was nice. The soup was unique-- it had mushrooms, regular onions, and carrots. The chicken karaage was yummy but more like popcorn chicken for the size and how much breading they used. It was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to have it again. The worst part was the omakase, which should have been the best. Almost all of the fish was common (salmon, shrimp, tuna). The presentation was nonexistent. And the fish just wasn't that good. **Edit: It seemed like a lot of the people dining there were friends of the workers.

My new go-to sushi spot. Fish is amazing quality and you cant beat their prices. Most places in SF charge double what Daisuki does for the same quality fish. The service was also amazing and the owner was so sweet.
