An American bar and kitchen on Seventh Street
SoMa Social opened on Seventh Street in May 2026, between Mission and Howard, in a part of SoMa that's had a hard decade with very little new opening in it. It runs as a bar with a full kitchen.
The block sits between the federal building and the Civic Center, so the daytime population is large and the evening one isn't. That gap is what any restaurant here has to solve, which is why the food menu matters more than the drinks list.

Delicious 😋 must try Cauliflower Burger 🍔 (vegetarian), Pork 🐖 Belly Nachos and Pork 🐖 Belly Tacos 🌮 or Fish 🎣 Tacos 🌮 . Also 🍹 Tequila Serenade and Play Time Mule 🍹. Half restaurant is Sports ⚽️ 🏈 🏀 Bar High Tables , High Bar Chairs other half is restaurant style sitting. REALLY cool 😎 and GREAT staff . We were helped by Eli and other staff. Come alone or with 15 people , prices 💵 are reasonable . Opens late ⏰ 🌙 , most restaurants in the area close by 9:00 - 9:30 🕤 PM, this one closes late 10:00 🕙 PM or 11:00 🕚 PM, great food really late.menu is subdivided into “Kick Off”, “Field Goals”, “Over Time”, “Side Hustle”, “Starting Line Up” and bathrooms 🚽 are way cleaner 🧽 🧹 than any Stadium 🏟️. Water 💦 Bottle is super cold 🥶 and refreshing to drink 🤤.

This neighborhood has been crying out for a new restaurant and sports bar. Stopped by to watch some playoff basketball and had a great experience. Mac and cheese was creamy with a nice crunch from the pancetta, and the fish tacos were excellent. Great service too. Will definitely be back to watch the World Cup and to try the rest of the menu!

We were happy that a restaurant was on premises for our stay. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. While we waited for our food, we watched the barista repeatedly burn himself on the espresso machine, dropping the towel he was using to wipe the steam from the machine onto the dirty ground and picking it back up to continue using. We waited 25 minutes for food when it wasn't that busy. Only two of us dining, yet our food arrived more than five minutes apart. Two simple dishes ordered: Eggs with potatoes: Eggs were bland and cold, potatoes were more onions than potatoes and potatoes were hard as a rock undercooked. French toast: soggy and wet inside, burned on outside. While we made a half hearted effort on the egg plate, mostly eating the bacon, the french toast was inedible. We pushed it to the side and waited until someone noticed and stopped by. The person who seemed to be the host asked and we told him our food wasn't good. He responded by being pissy and taking ONE plate off our bill. We still had to pay nearly $25 while the only thing that was good was a cup of tea. Bad experience, and poor reflection on the hotel this restaurant is related to as well.

Smash burger is fantastic! Fries are perfect. Folks are friendly. Open at 6:30am for breakfast with full coffee bar and it’s right around the corner from me!

Cauliflower burger and herb dusted fries- The menu is just what the neighborhood needed! Looks like they will be doing watch parties and of course all the sports one could want!
