Hush Harbor

★ 4.5 · 258 reviews Washington, D.C. Opened September 2025

DC's first no-phones bar

Hush Harbor opened on H Street in September 2025 with a rule the city had not tried before: no phones, strictly enforced.

What fills the gap is Polaroid film, a lending library, trivia nights, shrimp remoulade and Cajun red beans and rice. Bring somebody who needs the intervention more than you do.

My favorite DC bar!!! We make friends every single time we go. Amazing drinks, the friendliest people, and great vibes. Love you Hush Harbor!!

Amazing customer service! I have been to this bar many times. I am pleased with how Cesar is always attentive to all the customers. He is always in a great mood. Will definitely be coming back more and recommending to others. So many new experiences as well. This location may look small but once you walk in you will be surprised how big and beautiful it is. Has 2 bars and a big patio. Amazing!

We loved hosting our wedding at Hush Harbor. The space is beautiful, intimate, and full of character, with exposed brick and a warm, romantic atmosphere that felt perfect for our celebration. The layout worked wonderfully for both the ceremony and reception, and the space photographed incredibly well. Hush Harbor was the ideal setting for our day, and we’re so glad we chose it.

I can't recommend Hugh Harbor highly enough--both as a bar and as an event space. My husband and I went to Rock with a very idiosyncratic vision for our Latin/American/Jewish wedding and, in just two months, Rock helped us make it happen. The space, the staff, and the food all exceeded our (very high) expectations. First, the space: It's an ideal spot for a large group with lots of different preferences. Our guests continue to tell us how much they loved that there was one space to dance and get silly and a separate (quieter) space to hang out and chat. Everywhere you go in Hush Harbor has a special and unique charm. The staff: Everyone at Hush Harbor went above and beyond. The bartenders and servers made sure everyone (from the toddlers to the elderly guests) felt at home and had what they needed. They immediately understood the vibe we were going for, and they matched it. And when things went wrong (as they inevitably do at a wedding), the staff were ready to jump in and problem solve. But above all, Rock (owner, chef, event coordinator, man of many hats) was truly fantastic in helping us plan every step of our wedding celebration. He was always available to chat with us, connected us with vendors, gave us incredible advice on how to stay on budget, and was funny/kind/compassionate throughout the entire process. We could not have asked for a more helpful person in our wedding-planning journey. Finally, the food: It's really really good. This is one of the very best bars in D.C.

Hush Harbor was a unique and enjoyable experience. Last week we went and I loved having our phones locked away in the secure pouches. It really allowed for intentional conversation without any distractions. I had the gin-based Bees Knees, which was great, and the pimento cheese grilled cheese, which was pretty good. The vibes were on point, and I especially loved the music. It felt like the perfect mid-90s hip hop throwback. Definitely a spot for good drinks, good food, and even better conversation.
