Brewery and natural wine in the old Country Club space
Henceforth took over the old H Street Country Club and turned it into a brewery that also takes natural wine seriously. IPAs, cream ales, an Irish red, and a list of bottles that has nothing to do with the beer.
Food is better than the format suggests: braised beef cheek sandwiches, Old Bay wings, a blood orange brûlée. Rooftop seating came later in the summer.

Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Great atmosphere and family friendly. Our child keeps requesting we come back for the mango sorbet.

As H Street neighbors of Henceforth, there was no doubt in our minds that we wanted to host our Wedding Welcome Party here. Everyone knew the beers were going to be great, but the food easily stole the show. The bartenders were attentive, fun, and quick. Erin was super helpful in planning and executing. The upstairs taproom was the perfect venue and size to host 75-80 guests. If you are looking to host a party on H Street, you would be insane not to have Henceforth be at the top of your list.

I love this place! The best burger in the area and amazing calamari and wings too! There’s always a nice bartender to talk you through trying all of their beers and they have great cocktails as well. I love going on Thursdays for live music

Awesome atmosphere, awesome wine selection, I bet you their cocktails are on a different level, but I want to take a moment to discuss their beer. Ben has been (no pun intended) in the craft beer industry for quite sometime now and as a business owner myself, it is tough to bet on yourself to make ends meet. I’m so glad he did! I wasn’t able to taste them all, but the beers he brews are best in many different classes. I like IPA’s (his are good), but I like darker beers better. The porter is hands down amazing and he just finished brewing a Belgium double that is the best I’ve ever had. Let me be extremely clear here, I’ve had a lot of Belgium beers. I’ll end by saying, if you are looking for a good place to eat, a good drink and a classy atmosphere this place is it. Thank you Ben! I’ll see you soon.

Really cool spot particularly because of the versatile space. Went for restaurant week… the winter salad was AMAZING! My only complaint is they need to up their dessert game - maybe add something chocolate to the menu. But overall amazing and great service.
