Half-price Irish whiskey on Wednesdays

The Harp opened on 12th Street in Brookland in November 2025 and does not stray from the format: fish and chips, shepherd's pie, a wild ox pie for the adventurous, Guinness on tap.

The whiskey list is long and runs at half price on Wednesdays, which is the correct use of a Wednesday.

First time at the Harp and it lived up to the hype. Food was great and the service was even better. Our server Jackson was the best. All his recommendations were spot on. Fish and Chips was my favorite.

The shepards pie was delicious! Margs were great and our server Aiden was awesome. He was a fun server with great recommendations! Him and Jackson took good care of us, will be back!

Friends have been telling me about the harp for months and I finally went to check it out for a World Cup game. My first impression and lasting takeaway were the same; why did I wait so long to try this place? The frozen espresso martini was great and went down really nice on a hot summer day. The food is familiar pub fare but elevated in a way I didn't expect. I highly recommend the dry rub wings and celtic creole shrimp. The bartender was also very friendly and helped me figure out what I wanted from the large draft selection.

I’m just a visitor to the area, but I will remember this place and come back next time! Our waiter, Jackson, offered some suggestions from the menu and we got most of them – all delicious. We were able to watch the whole World Cup game without feeling rushed, enjoying our drinks and the waiter never made us feel like we needed to move on. When things got super busy, another waiter Aidan, came by to check on us n scoop up dirty dishes- The waiters seem to support each other well. Nice service and a nice place!

I’ve been here twice. First, for a cocktail at the bar- my manhattan was made perfectly (not too dry or sweet) and I struck up a conversation with strangers at the bar. I love a friendly bar. The second time was for dinner. This time, I found The Harp to be a combination of fine dining and a bar akin to Cheers. Jackson and Aidan were a great team- they took care of all our needs….they recommended great food (order the monkfish!) and made sure we never had to look for them. Thanks, guys! Again, I was seated next to a table we became friendly with even tho they were rooting for the wrong World Cup teams. 😜 I will definitely be back- hope to see you there!
