Fourteen cabaret seats from the Jane Jane team
The Jane Jane team built Bar Betsie into fourteen seats on 4th Street NE, named after one of the owners' mothers and decorated like a cabaret room that has seen some decades.
The Café Caribe is rum and cold brew. Snacks stay unserious: Buffalo chicken dip, spicy pork rinds. The patio out front doubles the capacity in warm months.

Bar Betsie has such a memorable vibe. The decor is stylish, warm, and full of personality. Atmosphere that feels polished without being pretentious. It’s a fun space for date night or drinks with friends, and the ambiance makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. My favorite spot to grab a drink in Union Market

Bar Betsie is hoot and a half but let me tell you when it comes to ratings it is 5 hoots. We went on an absolutely packed slam night but the service was still FIVE STARS. The experience starts when the guy out front helped us get seated. I think his name was Tom and he was a five star man. The drinks were well balanced and fairly priced. We had some bar snacks too and they were great. I can’t wait to go back again this summer.

If I could give Bar Betsie 10 stars, I would. I actually went here twice in the exact same day, and it was entirely because of the phenomenal service from the AGM and the bartender. They made us feel so welcome and took hospitality to the next level. The cocktails are fantastic, the vibe in Union Market is spot on, and the team makes you feel like a regular instantly. Next time I visit DC, this will absolutely be my first stop. Highly recommend!

Bar Betsie is a perfect after-hours speakeasy vibe to unwind and enjoy great music, drinks, and light bites. I didn’t try any food on this visit, but the atmosphere alone has me looking forward to coming back sooner rather than later.

Love Jane Jane, so was excited to try this spot closer to us and it didn’t disappoint!! We had a wonderful few rounds of drinks here. Galen in particular was a phenomenal bartender!! Knowledgeable, creative, and mixed fantastic drinks. Their homemade orgeat needs to be bottled and sold lol, it was soooo scrumptious.
