Drinks built for slow flavour, not first sip

The Alchemist is a dark, small room on Nguyễn Quang Bích where the bartenders care more about how a drink develops over ten minutes than how it lands in the first sip. Ask what they're working on and you'll get a real answer.

There are regular jazz sessions. Signature drinks include the Legendary of Highland and the Quinque Spice Pulveris, both built on Vietnamese spice.

It's a wonderful bar, serving high quality signature creations beside classics in modern interpretation. The mixologists work with 110% passion for what they are doing! That makes this bar a MUST GO, when staying in Hanoi. Very professional, extremely well balanced cocktails. My NR 1 was Vietnamese Heritage and another one, I forgot the name. Would you mix Sambuca with melon?? They do and create a mouth- bomb!! I love ve the place, they served me two of the best cocktails in years of bar experience around the world.

The cocktails here are fantastic and very reasonably priced! The vibe inside is awesome and the music is great. When we went it was hubbys birthday and we wanted some quiet drinks to celebrate and the staff really made the night. I don't know the name of the young girl working the night we went but she went above and beyond to make the night special with some small candles. This is definitely a great place for a drink!

OK from the time I walked in I was greeted by a very nice and hospitable young man. They also gave me water and some snacks to to eat while I partake in my drink. The Bartenders are so phenomenal. They were very kind. They were both also bilingual which was really important for me. I also loved the drinks. The ambience is so well-thought-out it’s just it’s really beautiful. It is one of the best bars as a bartender that I’ve that I’ve ever gone to. I really love the drinks. They were affordable and one of the bartenders told me about their jazz night, which I’m most definitely going back. If you are in the area and you want a really good cocktail andvwanna unwind and just maybe you know have a good time. I would most certainly recommend this place.

We entered there and was hit with an amazing vibe. The attendee, Ms. Ni, was amazing. Got awesome clicks of us, got us drinks and made us feel comfortable. Will totally go back for the great drinks.

An unforgettable night at The Alchemist in Hanoi 🎷✨ From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was something special — intimate, elegant, and perfectly set for a live jazz experience. The cocktails were beautifully crafted and consistently excellent, but what truly made the evening stand out was the people behind the experience. A special thank you to our waiter @baobe_2611 for the attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly service throughout the night. It made a real difference and elevated the entire experience. And the music — absolutely incredible. The live performance by @hlalah.du was a highlight of our trip. Her voice, style, and presence created such a captivating and soulful atmosphere that made it hard to leave. This is not just a bar — it’s a full experience.
