Ten seats and total focus on how a drink gets built. That's the whole pitch at this West End cocktail bar on Montague Road, and it's why Broadsheet called it one of Brisbane's ten best new bars of the year.

Ten seats means you book ahead or get lucky. Order the highball and actually watch them build it. The +81 Sushi Kappo counter opened in the same building the year after.

ood, venue and staff were all amazing and the cocktails and other drinks were incredible and unlike anything we'd had before. We will definetly be back and will be trying Sushi Kappo! The venue is small so would reccomend to book in advance.

I'm a bit confused but this is the right address, and the photo is of the right building even though the listing is for Aizome Bar. First time dining at Sushi Kappo, or at a 'top end' sushi restaurant in Brisbane. I would be surprised if it isn't not only the best here, but among the very best in Australia. We were extremely happy with the food, the service and the atmosphere. The staff was happy to answer questions (I asked a lot!) and to make adjustments to the food based requested by diners. Yes, it is expensive, but the ingredients were of the highest quality, and the preparations were spot on and innovative.

Excellent all round. Service was faultless, the wine paring was thoughtfully laid out, the venue is smart and cozy. The food was absolutely phenomenal and it was a real experience to watch someone lovingly create each dish in front of us. I’ll be back many many times.

An fantastic little bar. I dropped in with a friend for a couple of cocktails and bar snacks. The service and attention were second to none. We didn't have a reservation but luckily they were able to accommodate us. The cocktails are designed by the bar, creative and fresh The two I tried were different from anything I've had before, and most importantly, they tasted great (not simply experimental)! The bar snacks were also far better that your typical fare. I will definitely be back to try more drinks, and also for dinner at the restaurant!

Genuinely felt like we were back in Japan. The service was impeccable and you can see the pride they have in their food, drinks and service. The neo cocktails were such an experience and the tasting menu everything was delicious. Really good value considering the serves and the high quality service. Can't wait for the restaurant to open.
