The upstairs Negroni spot Collins Street can't find
Bar Ferdinand sits a level above Alfred Place, which is exactly why it works. The stairs filter out the Collins Street wanderers, leaving a room built for proper Negronis and a snack menu worth ordering from properly, not just picking at.
Go before dinner, not after. It empties out late, and the early slot is when the place actually earns the hype.

A very fun night at Ferdinand. One of the highlights is their beautifully designed botanical cocktail menu, where every page feels like a little work of art. We tried the Blackberry, Rose, Eucalypt, and Herb cocktails, each inspired by a different botanical. I loved how every drink is named after a tree or plant, making the whole experience feel thoughtful and cohesive. The presentation was just as good as the drinks themselves, and it made choosing what to order part of the fun. Also the bar tender is quite talkative and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy creative cocktails in a beautifully curated setting.

Bar Ferdinand is such a cool hidden cocktail bar tucked away in the city. The location down Alfred Place gives it that classic Melbourne laneway bar feeling, making it a great spot for after work drinks or a relaxed night out. The atmosphere inside is cosy, dimly lit, and stylish without feeling pretentious. It has that intimate cocktail bar vibe where you can comfortably sit for hours chatting over drinks. I had a pretzel, overall, such a great little cocktail spot above a steak place with a relaxed atmosphere, quality drinks, and tasty snacks. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy Melbourne cocktail bars.

Lovely new cocktail bar in the CBD with a very intimate atmosphere. The space is small but beautifully designed, and the botanical-style menu is really creative. We tried the Rose and Eucalypt cocktails both were well balanced, with the Eucalypt being especially fresh and easy to drink. Great spot for a quiet drink or a date night.

Bar Ferdinand is a stunning addition to the Collins street. The grand staircase leads you into a space defined by moody lighting and a sophisticated French minimalist aesthetic that feels both spacious and intimate. The cocktail menu is beautifully curated with a botanical focus, offering refreshing flavor profiles that remind me of a lush garden. I particularly enjoyed the Oak; it was smooth and comforting, evoking the serene atmosphere of a forest. The snacks were also excellent, complementing the drinks perfectly. It is the ideal spot for anyone seeking a chic, quiet sanctuary in the city with impeccable design and high-quality service. Whether you are catching up with a friend or looking for a refined atmosphere to unwind, this bar is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended for those who appreciate understated luxury.

Absolutely loved Bar Ferdinand! The drinks were so well made with a really great balance of flavours — you can tell a lot of care goes into each cocktail🍸 The atmosphere had such classy, sophisticated vibes while still feeling fun and welcoming The staff were amazing — super friendly, funny, and really knowledgeable about the menu and the high-quality liquor display. We had the Japanese Slipper and the Blackberry cocktails, and both were honestly perfect! We also tried the wagyu pie which was delicious and the perfect snack alongside the drinks. Will definitely be back❤️
