Corner wine bar that eats like a restaurant
Suze looks like a neighborhood wine bar, but the food is the real draw. Broadsheet ranked it among the year's best new restaurants, not bars, which tells you where the kitchen's priorities sit.
The list leans French, plates are small but not skimpy. It sits on a residential corner with zero passing trade, so locals like it that way. Book midweek if you can.

Just back from a beautiful night at Suze. We went for the $90 chef's menu to make it easy & fun for the table of 4. Very delicious & very generous. A cosy vibe, almost full on a Wed night, but you can chat & great acoustics. Great team with super nice wait staff & a calm young chef team puumping out wonderful food. Will be back ⚡

Changing menu, really accomodating for pregnancy ! Nice selection of non alcoholic drinks too. Artichoke pasta was a highlight. Great service and nice vibes.

I dined solo at Suze and what a joy it was to watch the staff move and interact with guests and one another. I get the impression I received particular engagement due to my single dining status, which I appreciated. Staff were well informed of the menu and openly shared their recommendations. I enjoyed the ceviche, parfait (my favourite) and the daily special, duck. I wish I'd also got a pasta as it looked incredible, but my stomach was already struggling. The wine pairing was spot on and I appreciated the half pours to ensure a fresh glass at each course. The mood is date-esq and very on point for Fitzroy. A complete joy and I wish I was local to return soon without delay. It was on the expensive side, however, I didn't hold back on the wine. The whole experience was worth every cent. I thoroughly recommend Suze for dates and small groups... Or if you're so inclined, a solo date!

This is our second visit to Suze and it was as enjoyable as the first. We sat upstairs this time, although my personal preference is the downstairs space where it is a little quieter. The benefit of being upstairs, however, is being able to watch the chefs in action at the pass. My husband, a martini fan, declared the two he had as particularly delicious while I appreciated being able to order a fave, Lillet Rose as an aperitif. Not inexpensive, but a great portion of our bill was on drinks and wine. Highly recommend.

Fantastic lunch. We were a group of five out for a long lunch and Suze delivered a 10/10 experience. Food, wine , service and ambience were perfect. Appreciated being somewhere that didn’t rush you through your meal and deeply considered how to put your order together to optimise the experience. Cocktails were also in a class of their own. Will definitely be back
