Skip Brunswick Street and duck one block over to Greeves Street, where the crowds thin out fast. Hands Down is a small room with a good list and no queue at the door, the kind of place people give directions to rather than find on a map.

Broadsheet named it one of the year's eleven best new Melbourne bars. Open late on weekends, when the short walk off the main strip is the whole point.
