Thai, Vietnamese and Singaporean cooking, all day, nine floors up

Skip the country debate. Chao's menu is sorted by cooking method instead, grilled, stir-fried, soup, so you can order a Thai grill dish next to a Vietnamese soup without anyone blinking. It sits on the ninth floor of The Millennity in Kwun Tong.

That's a floor above the old cha chaan teng scene the district is known for, closer to the newer high-rise dining rooms Kwun Tong has been filling since the mall's 2022 opening. The format makes it easy for the kitchen to swap dishes without redoing the whole menu.

The menu has some unique dishes from a mix of south eastern Asia origins. Recommend the crab curry and pomelo salad; would not get the prawn with glass noodles. Comfortable seating and excellent dining experience. Located in a new mall in the area.

a newly opened Southeast Asian restaurant at The Millennity, Kwun Tong, offering Thai, Singaporean and Vietnamese flavors in one place. Easily reached by lift to the 9th floor, it stands out as the mall’s only Southeast Asian dining option with wallet‑friendly prices. The space has a relaxed, holiday vibe with bamboo décor, featuring indoor seating and a pet‑friendly outdoor terrace. All chefs are Thai, delivering authentic flavors and house‑made desserts. Highlights include generous daily happy hour deals, affordable afternoon tea sets, weekly-changing lunch menus, and well-executed dishes like spicy pork rib soup, grilled pork neck, baked seafood rice, and sambal water spinach.

Way too pricey for its portion and taste. Very quiet atmosphere, nice service.

Everything is okay and everything is on the more expensive side. The “spring rolls” from the deep fried combo are not crispy which is unusual (perhaps, they are not spring rolls).
