The gastrobar that gave González Suárez a reason to linger
Before this, the González Suárez ridge was all pricey apartment blocks and nowhere relaxed to eat. Mr. & Mrs. Ou fixed that with author cooking, art on the walls and a design-led room that doesn't feel like anywhere else in Quito.
It became the city's it spot within months. The bar runs later than the kitchen, so start with dinner and let it drift into a proper night out.

10/10 on vibes. Such a fun twinkle light and shabby jazz feel. Great dirty martini and tasty plates. Only downside is a fairly limited menu.

Cute spot! Would highly recommend getting potatoes, whatever sauce they use is phenomenal! The mushroom pate was also exquisite. If you’re looking for a mocktail, I’d highly recommend the hibiscus mule, it was soooo delicious.

This is a spectacular Gastro Pub in Gonzalez Suarez that’s truly delightful. It’s very popular with locals. I understand that some will drive as far away as 45 minutes to enjoy this spot. The owners are so welcoming and amazingly kind. I had the Hibiscus Mule mocktail. It was so good and the ginger beer in it really comes thru. We tried various small plate options included Huevos à la diabla which were decadent, rich, and a spin on a classic. The pulled pork on brioche was so nicely cooked. I love the thickness of the brioche which I understand is freshly baked in-house. The pork gave hints of sesame oil and a little kick. My favorite item consumed this evening was the Bao with fried chicken. I marveled over the softness of the bun with the fried chicken garnished with fresh dill and pickled vegetables. I see what the hype is about and it is true. I’m glad our friends introduced us to their neighborhood Gastro pub.
