Chrysanthos Karamolegos' relaunch of Aigli Zappeiou's main kitchen

Chef Chrysanthos Karamolegos took over the main restaurant at Aigli Zappeiou, inside the Zappeion Garden next to the National Garden, renaming it Zappa when it reopened on December 18, 2025. The menu carries a strong Greek backbone, and the space includes a cocktail bar curated by Thodoris Pyrillos alongside a separate wine bar with a Greek and international list.

Aigli Zappeiou has been a fixture in this park for decades under various operators, so Zappa's job is partly to give a historic address a reason to matter again as a daily destination rather than just an events venue. Being open all day helps that case, pulling in a garden crowd that wouldn't necessarily book a dinner reservation.
