A Fira restaurant that treats art as seriously as the menu

Walk into Mistiro and the first thing you notice isn't the food, it's the walls. Artwork covers every surface, and the room pulls from Santorini's volcanic and archaeological history instead of the usual whitewashed Cycladic look.

Chef Panagiotis Giannakopoulos, who spent years running restaurants in Paleo Faliro, plates familiar Greek dishes with more care than most Fira tavernas bother with. It sits right next to the Museum of Prehistoric Thera, which tells you exactly what kind of night this is.
