The Kyoto minimalist chain's first Hungarian bar, with its own roastery

% Arabica arrived on Király utca in January 2025, bringing the white-tiled minimalism the Kyoto-founded brand uses everywhere and, unusually, a roastery on site rather than imported beans.

The menu is deliberately short: espresso, latte, a filter, and very little else. In a city with a dense independent coffee scene, the queue outside on opening week made the point that the brand travels.

A spacious, quiet luxury design immediately catches your eye when you enter % Arabica, but it is the incredible care behind the bar that truly stands out. Watching the barista craft an intricate swan latte art on my drink made it clear that this spot values precision and artistic flair. ☕️ What I Tried & The Quality I ordered the Kyoto Latte, one of their famous signature drinks, and watched the whole process unfold over the wide, open bar. It was served within minutes, looking absolutely stunning with its flawless presentation. The first sip of the Kyoto Latte was a revelation. Incredibly smooth, perfectly balanced, and almost buttery in texture. The rich espresso blends seamlessly with the silky steamed milk and a touch of condensed milk, bringing out creamy chocolate undertones with virtually no acidity. It manages to feel deeply comforting and rich without ever becoming heavy, maintaining a light and elegant body. If it's possible to fall in love with a drink, then I definitely have. 😍 🪑 Vibe & Interior The interior is beautifully minimalist, using clean lines and a bright space. There is plenty of seating both inside and out. The striking coffee machine and a beautifully presented bean bar are the real eye-cathers. The atmosphere feels sophisticated yet entirely welcoming, a vibe that is elevated by the attentive staff who happily took the time to walk me through their specialty menu. Good to know: 🤍 They roast their beans fresh on-site, and there's a great selection available to purchase. So it's not only a fantastic place to enjoy a coffee, but also a great spot to get your favorite roasting and bring some beans home. I'm giving my visit 5 stars. ⭐️ This is a unique signature experience for Budapest, this spot is well worth a visit.

Always a good place if you want to enjoy a good coffee. We discovered it in Thailand first. Glad to see it expands through Europe too.

Really nice café with a calm atmosphere and beautiful interior design. I tried the Iced Kyoto Latte — definitely on the expensive side, but in my opinion worth trying once. The taste was smooth, slightly sweet and a bit different from a regular latte. ☕ A good spot in Budapest if you enjoy specialty coffee and modern café concepts.

Fantastic coffee shop. It's good coffee but it's not cheap. I have some unique coffee options, even Japanese style. Very modern and elegant. Limited seating outside. The craziest thing is that they have a fancy bidet toilet to go along with the Japanese coffee theme.

After trying it in Tokyo, I had to visit Arabica again for their coffee. The quality is just as good, and having a roastery there makes it even more special. It’s a relaxing place to take a break after walking around Budapest. A great spot to enjoy a really good cup of coffee.
