Hand-roasted coffee and all-day brunch off Gozsdu udvar
Blue Bird roasts its own coffee and runs several small rooms around the Jewish Quarter, of which Holló utca is the calmest. The roastery side means the espresso changes as the batches do.
Brunch runs all day, which makes it useful in a district where most kitchens stop serving between services. The pavement tables face a quiet cross-street rather than the Gozsdu crowd a block away.

Hard to find, as there’s a different, smaller venue right at the entrance to the courtyard. The menu is varied and the place is very dog friendly, which we appreciated. But the tables sit too low for the seating, so eating isn’t comfortable, and it’s quite noisy. The brunch looked better in the photos than it tasted. Average at best, and the eggs came cold. Our drinks were brought to the wrong table, though one of the waitresses was lovely and did her best to fix things. The 15% service fee felt high for what we got. For these prices, we can’t recommend it.

We had a late breakfast at Blue Bird Cafe and absolutely loved it! We ordered the Super Bowl and the Pancake Sushi, and both dishes were incredibly delicious. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into both the food and the presentation. A special thank you to our waiter, Armin, who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. His great service made our visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a unique and delicious breakfast or brunch spot in Budapest, Blue Bird Cafe is definitely worth visiting. We will absolutely be back! 💙

We’ve been here for the third time now, and every single visit has been amazing. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the food has been excellent every time. They also have some very special drinks — especially the chai selections, which are absolutely worth trying! We would definitely keep coming back and highly recommend this place.

Late breakfast on Sunday, not too busy as it was a almost afternoon. Service was very good fast attentive, late was very nice and the breakfast platter was really good with bacon eggs, smoked salmon some cream chees and nice salad around. Overall memorable. Prices are a bit on high side be mindful as tip/service included and they ask for more tip. I would visit again

Very friendly service and delicious breakfast in a lovely area. The coffee was very good and the craffle was an experience. Everything was well cooked and the coffee was well balanced and not too acidic. Easy to spend s few hours here watching the world go by.
