Bagels and own-roast coffee by Tara Street

Bagels are the reason to come, backed by a coffee roast the team pulls themselves. It sits on the ground floor of the redeveloped Fifteen George's Quay, right beside Tara Street station, from Mark Cashen (ex-As One), Paddy Kirk and Fionn Dwyer Hyland.

The kitchen shuts at 2.30pm and the doors follow at 4pm on weekdays, so treat it as a morning and lunch stop, not an afternoon one. Weekends run 9am to 3pm.

I came in with my boyfriend and ordered the BEC on an everything bagel and a vanilla latte and really enjoyed it. Food was fresh and proportions of ingredients were just right with the gochujang mayo making it stand out from the usual. The latte was also good but would be nice to add more syrup options other than just vanilla coming from someone who enjoys a sweeter/flavoured coffee.

Really nice spot with a great and vibey atmosphere plus a beautiful interior design. The pastries are definitely the star of the show. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the cinnamon twist which I can highly recommend. I also had the double chocolate pain suisse which tasted great. As someone from Switzerland I take my chocolate quite seriously, so I was a little disappointed that the staff could not tell me what kind of chocolate was used in the pain suisse. It would be great if the team could be a bit more knowledgeable about the ingredients in the future. The coffee was very good with a nice rounded profile and perfectly frothed milk. Definitely a place I would come back to.

As an American living in Dublin, one of the things I miss most is a quality bacon egg and cheese bagel. Volumes has absolutely nailed it!!!!! Great food and coffee, sure to become a regular in my routine

I've visited a lot of cafés around Dublin, but this place is on another level. The attention to detail is evident in everything, from the design of the space to the food, coffee and overall experience. Every element feels considered. The bagels are the best I've had in Dublin and the coffee is consistently excellent. It's rare to find somewhere that gets both the product and the atmosphere right, but Volumes manages to do exactly that. A truly special addition to the city and somewhere I find myself returning to again and again.
