Breakfast inside Almaty's new arts museum

Cafe Alma's third branch sits inside the newly built Almaty Museum of Arts, and designer Vera Khablova kept the room calm enough to match the modernist building around it. Chef Andrei Titov built the menu to fit the setting, not fight it.

Breakfast is the best hour here. Try the hummus with soft egg and chive cream, or the French omelet with local shrimp and lazjan sauce. There are three kinds of porridge, plus syrniki made with melted milk, served with kaymak and apple jam all day.
