Vientiane's craft brewery, now pouring in Pakse

Corebeer built its name in Vientiane as one of the only Lao-owned microbreweries pouring anything besides Beerlao. The Pakse branch keeps the same tap list, running as bar and restaurant with a live band on stage often enough that regulars check the schedule first.

The crowd here treats a night out as a full evening, food and music both part of the plan. In a city where most bars pour Beerlao by default, having a real local craft option changes what a night out can look like.

  2/5/2015: I was really looking forward to going, but the bar area was closed for renovations, although the karaoke area was still open. It was a new and fun experience. I mostly sang Thai songs.

  Very friendly staff and a nice venue. Unfortunately what we have planned didn't work here, the internet was too slow so we had to go elsewhere. But happy to go back because the staff was so wonderful
