Plousio

The bar Pakse locals actually drink at
Plousio sits east of the riverside bar strip, closer to Dao Hueng Market than the spots tourists find first. It built a loyal crowd over a few years, closed for a stretch, then reopened because regulars kept asking for it back.
The vibe leans local bar over expat hangout. No theme, no gimmick, just drinks and conversation. It's the kind of place a Pakse resident mentions before it ever lands on a tourist list.
Good to know
- It's east of the main tourist strip, expect a more local crowd than the riverside bars.

This is the best restaurant and bar in Pakse I've ever been to. The prices are reasonable, the service is good, it's fun, and they sing Thai songs beautifully. I recommend making a reservation beforehand because this amazing place fills up very quickly. On the day I went, I had a reservation, and everyone else in the restaurant had also reserved tables.
