Basque cheesecake from two friends, now in the Jordaan
Juan Fernandez grew up in Almeria and Javier Ortega in Mexico City, and both missed the Basque cheesecake they'd fallen for back home. Cheesecake Project is the result of bringing it to Amsterdam, built from that shared craving.
The Jordaan shop bakes classic, chocolate and speculaas versions fresh every evening, ready to sell the next morning.

We tried the classic and lemon cheesecakes, and both were absolutely delicious. The café has a cozy boutique atmosphere with comfortable seating, and the open kitchen gives you confidence in how fresh and carefully everything is prepared. A lovely place to enjoy great cheesecake and coffee. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the BEST cheesecake I've ever eaten. There is nothing needed to be improved! Perfect taste, perfect sweetness, perfect texture, perfect base thickness, perfect everything! Trust me bro!

Tried two flavors so far. San Sebastián is salty and cheesy, and passionfruit is sour and fragrant. If I pass nearby in the future I may try other sweet flavors but I won’t go out of my way to buy it again.

Hello, fellow food enthusiasts! I’m Marius, and I’ve been traveling the world for quite some time now, on a mission to discover culinary experiences that truly hold a special status. Today, I visited Project Cheesecake, as I was drawn in by their unique concept and idea. I intentionally opted for a tasting of their two bestsellers. The service was truly excellent—professional and very representative of the brand. In terms of flavor, however, we weren't quite in the "top tier" yet; I believe there is still some work to be done in the future. The initial taste is good, but it fades far too quickly. The freshness is definitely there, but the "emotion" or soul behind the flavor is missing. For a comparison of what I mean by depth of flavor, look at Rudy’s Stroopwafels. Nevertheless, I’m grateful for the experience and will certainly stop by again in a few years to see how the craft has evolved. Best regards, Marius
