Coffee and design goods on Stavanger's painted street

Kokko runs a specialty coffee bar and a small design shop side by side on Øvre Holmegate, the row of colorfully painted houses at the heart of the city's café scene. The espresso is made with care, and the room stays bright enough to browse the shelves while you wait.

Regulars stop by for the coffee, first timers for the street itself. Either way it's one of the more interesting corners on Øvre Holmegate.

Hard to spot as not much signage at the front and not obvious from walking past that it's open but well worth finding and popping in. Great coffee and ambience!

I visited for morning coffee and ordered a flat white with a cinnamon bun and my friend ordered oat cappuccino with chocolate cookies. The coffee was smooth, and the cinnamon bun was ok but the cookie was so delicious it has strong taste the staff told me it’s made of barley flour . The staff were welcoming and attentive, and service was quick. The atmosphere was calm, clean, and perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. But not for wheelchair and baby strollers it has stairs from the entrance but seating outside is available

Staff were super nice, coffee and cakes were very good. The atmosphere is lovely. Very special coffee shop. Exactly what we were looking for. They roast their own coffee upstairs!

Super cosy coffee, great choice in beans and delicious coffee. I tried the cheescake which was also delicious! Staff was super kind, I can only recommend. ⭐️

Fantastic. One of the best coffee shops I’ve been to. Lovely and calm, good quality speciality coffee, professional service. Amazing.
