Persian kabobs hit Santurce, seed-oil free

The turmeric rice alone is worth the trip, but it's the seed-oil-free menu that sets Kasa Kabob apart on Avenida De Diego. Kabobs, house hummus and dressed salads round out plates that start around $14.

San Juan has no shortage of shawarma counters, but an actual Persian kitchen is new territory here. Everything on the menu is halal.

Food was delicious overall, but there was one major issue, the kebab had a sour topping added to it that really didn’t work. Persian kebabs are supposed to be served with sumac on the side so each person can add it to their own taste not have a bunch of lemon juice poured all over it by the chef.

Writing this as I’m actively eating my food. Their kabobs are SO good. I got the Koobideh with beef and lamb. But I’m sure everything else is just as good. And the service is great as well.

Rare find, Persian restaurant in San Juan? Local PR chef who was trained for this kitchen, did a good job, well maybe for koobideh not so much but chenjeh and joojeh was very good. (Koobideh is not an easy kabob and takes years of practice, can’t complain) Loved the design and vibe.
