From the moment I stepped into Máro, I felt like I was witnessing the evolution of a chef I’ve admired for years. I’ve followed Mario Pagán since his early days as a sous chef at Chayote thanks to my grandmother and seeing how his creativity has matured into something this refined yet soulful is honestly special. I was invited by my uncle to Máro and absolutely adored it. Máro is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience that reflects his signature balance of bold flavors, thoughtful technique, and that unmistakable touch of personality. Every dish felt intentional, layered, and exciting without ever losing its connection to comfort and familiarity. The service elevated everything even further. María, our waitress, was absolutely amazing—attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about guiding us through the menu. Keifer was also incredibly helpful, making sure every detail of our experience felt seamless and welcoming. It’s rare to find a place that delivers on all fronts—food, atmosphere, and service—but Máro does exactly that. For anyone who has followed Chef Pagán’s journey, this restaurant feels like a beautiful continuation of his story. And for first-timers, it’s the perfect introduction to his brilliance. I’ll definitely be back—hungry for more. The valet parking staff was also very helpful.

We were looking for good craft cocktails around La Placita and this place delivered. It’s just a block away from all the chaos, which made it feel like a perfect escape. The ambiance is beautiful—very trendy and polished, not a local vibe, but exactly what we were in the mood for after dinner. We told the bartender what kind of liquor we like and whether we wanted something spicy or refreshing, and he created one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. It was unique, memorable, and honestly the highlight of the night.

All I can say is WOW. I came to Puerto Rico for vacation. I really wanted to try the sushi here. It was hands down the BEST sushi I have ever had. It literally melted in your mouth. 10/10! 🤩 I highly recommend this restaurant. Ema our waiter was so sweet & so kind! Definitely ask for her.

Amazing gastronomic experience at MARO. The portions are generous and everything was so flavourful. Highly recommended. The staff was friendly and came to check on us without being overly concerned. Great ambiance. See my photos. Tuna tartar, duck nachos, sushi, cod and duck fried rice and more.
