The Roca brothers' natural wine bar on Wine Square

The name is a pun: Vii sits right on Plaça del Vi, Girona's old Wine Square, and the Roca brothers couldn't resist. Sommelier Audrey Doré runs the list, all natural and small producer wines poured by the glass alongside tapas and platillos.

Expect to spend around 25 euros a head. It's a short walk from the family's Rocambolesc and Casa Cacao, but this one keeps its own scale and doesn't try to outdo either.

Lucky to get a table for two inside on a Friday night. Really good food with a couple of neat twists on old staples. Service was excellent and friendly despite our almost complete lack of Spanish.

Food was just okay. Calamari was undercooked. Oxtail sauce was entirely too sweet. Amazing wine list. Like so many of the other reviews, the service was indifferent at best for a meal period that did very few covers. So many other better restaurants to choose from.

We took a bunch of tapas (+10 different ones) and each of them was gorgeous... so I don't hesitate when saying this is a top tapas restaurant. The place is cool, the staff os very efficient and all food tasty... What else do you need ? Just make sure Illustration: rolan style squid for 13€ Labels: 2eat, #tapas, #fashion, #mustGo

Thankful to find this place when everywhere else seemed to be closed for a post 4pm snack. Had the olives, cecina croquette and jamon iberico with bread. Quick and friendly service - drinks and food were great, would give the cecina croquette a pass though as not much texture. Everything else spot on and reasonably priced.
