North and south Italy, one table, on Lilla Nygatan

Tipico opened in Gamla Väster in March 2024, a small room on Lilla Nygatan built around Italy's regional split. Squid with saffron potatoes sits on the same menu as braised beef cheek with polenta, next to handmade pasta and pizza.

The kitchen skips the usual line between north and south. One menu covers both, no separate categories, no apology for putting squid next to polenta.

The Kind of Place You Hope to Discover! Excellent food made with love and a great atmosphere. We ended up at Tipico by following a recommendation. The food was authentic, fresh and full of flavour, with high-quality ingredients and great execution. Service was friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a dinner as a couple. One of the highlights of our trip to Malmö – we would gladly return.

I tried the lunch which was an excellent one. Well made pasta served with great accessories. Good value for money and cozy little place. Highly recommend trying the Tiramisu which is beautifully simple and enjoyable in a classic format.

Delicious Italian food with friendly and fast service. Visited for lunch time and enjoyed everything we tried. They offer a large dining room space (2 levels) and a simple menu with daily specials + a good variety of pizzas. Also good coffee.

If you are looking for true Italian foos cooked by true Italians, this is the place! The food and service was fabulous. The chef really understands flavor. I highly recommend the Cocoa Tortellini. It was the perfect blend of salty, sweet and savory. Pizza is excellent! Definitely a must try!
