Anja Allvin's Ukrainian kitchen, named for her grandmother
Anja Allvin won Sweden's Masterchef in 2022, then opened her first restaurant in September 2024 on Citadellsvägen, near Malmö Saluhall. She named it Babusia, Ukrainian for grandmother.
The menu comes from her own family's recipes: borsjtj, varenyky, and other dishes rooted in her Ukrainian heritage. It's a five-minute walk from Malmö Central.

Good ukrainian cuisine, really testing i am telling you like Ukrainian) Good place to first try if Ukrainian food, of course it is made from some Sweden ingredients but any way testing pretty close to home food. Prices high but this is Sweden.

My favorite restaurant of Ukrainian food! In love with their borshtch (beetroot soup with meat) - definitely must try and their dumplings 😍 and sets of appetizers with vodka shots for some special occasions. Stuff is always very friendly and polite. They speak English, Ukrainian and Swedish. Also possible to take away food. Located very close to the train station, so it’s easy to commute from Copenhagen. Definitely coming again ❤️

Back for a third time for some desserts. The syrnyky looked different compared to last time I had it (Mar 2025). The jam was very strong, the smetana needed to be mixed to dull the intensity. The horishky was very good. I need to get more of this. Edit: added Ukrainian Tray Edit 2: added Forshmak and Pelmeni Edit 3: added Deruny, Varenyky, Medovyk

Located close to the university, it is a large but cosy Restaurant with a solid menu. The food is good, service is excellent. The Napoleon cake was old but the Honeycake was fantastic.

I had a wonderful experience at this Ukrainian restaurant Babusia. The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, specially borscht and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the Ukrainian music made everything feel even more special. I truly enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!
