Cocktails and natural wine above the S&W Market floor

Skip the line downstairs and head straight for the mezzanine. Periscope pours craft cocktails and natural, organic wines with a slice of pie and a view down over the whole food hall, built for people who already ate and just want a drink now.

The space doubles as an event venue. A holiday makers market took over the mezzanine for weeks at the end of 2025, and that half-bar, half-venue identity has stuck.

Amazing service, a real gem in downtown Asheville. The bartender, Max was extraordinary and had lots of info about downtown and liquor- Times bar next door is the best bar in town!

Periscope is a super cool bar in an amazing, historical building! They're located upstairs in the S&W building (which means you can grab a bite to eat and head upstairs to get a drink to go with your meal!) Very chill environment with wonderful folks behind the bar. They create their own draft cocktails and have a lovely selection of beer, wine, and N/A options. My new favorite place to hang out in Asheville. :)
