Five small shops on King Street rent couldn't normally afford

King Street pricing out independent shops is old news. Palmetto Row Collectives is the city's fix: a vacant storefront split into five boutique suites, rented below market to small businesses that couldn't otherwise land this address. Business training comes with the lease.

The first cohort was four minority-owned businesses sharing the roof, with a fifth suite added after launch. Tenants graduate out once they can stand alone, so the mix inside keeps shifting. Worth a walk-through just to see who's in this month.

Good to know

• The line-up rotates as businesses graduate out - what is inside now will not be inside next year.
• Open Monday and Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm; closed Tuesday and Sunday.
