New York style sourdough bagels, half a storefront wide

The address is 712 and a half South Pearl Street, and that half isn't a typo. Milly's runs out of a space so tight you could miss it walking past, but the sourdough bagels are the reason half of Denver food Instagram already knows the block.

Expect a hard, crackling crust and a dense, chewy crumb, closer to the real New York style than most local bagels get. Show up early on weekends. A sold-out sign by mid-morning is the norm here, not the exception.

This place is a little overhyped. The bagels are not like traditional sourdough bagels at all which is a little confusing. They are fluffy and the outside has a crust like texture and are crunchy. The cream cheese was flavorful but almost like watered down a little bit. Business is booming for them, so be prepared to wait an hour on the weekends. The staff are very nice, well organized and get orders out quickly. So many people are saying that these are the best bagels in Denver but I couldn’t agree less. For sourdough bagels it’s worth the drive to Rich Spirit in Wheat Ridge.

I got there at 745A on Wednesday morning and sat in my car until 8. I was second in line. A line didn’t really form until after 8:15, but everything was speedy for me! I ordered the big cheesy and when I got home there was no bacon at all :( I even opened it up more to check, but I still ate the sandwich bc I’m not super picky and understand mistakes happen, and that the shop is still very new. However, this could be a lesson to just double check orders for future reference :) Bagel was 8/10 overall! Good flavour and was really soft, fluffy and almost buoyant in a way. The bagel reminded me of a spot I used to go to in NYC a bit. I am going to come back again for another shot!

This is such a charming little neighborhood bagel spot! I got the Lenny’s Lover sandwich and it was so good and also huge! I’m excited for this business to grow and for people to continue to experience the bagels. To the people who are dragging on this place for its lines - this is a brand new establishment AND most bagel shops sell out, so be patient and kind! We love to see people supporting small business and dreams!

Get here early to avoid the long line! We waiting in line for one hour on a Saturday morning when we arrived at 9 am. This is the longest I’ve waited in line for anything in a while but the bagel made up for it. This bagel was absolutely delicious. Loved the amount of everything seasoning on it. Bagel was so soft and chewy in the best way. The whipped cream cheese was tangy and airy as well. The lemon brought a lot of freshness to the sandwich. The interior of this shop is tiny but lovely, they carry a few local art/craft items. The patio around the corner is super spacious.
