Uchiko Denver

Austin's cult sushi kitchen finally hits Cherry Creek

Uchiko is Tyson Cole's non-traditional Japanese kitchen, the sibling to Austin's original Uchi, now filling a 7,400-square-foot former gallery on Fillmore Street. Sushi shares the menu with hearth-roasted dishes and a house beverage program built just for this room.

Hai Hospitality teased the Denver opening for years, so Cherry Creek North had time to get curious. Happy hour runs 4 to 6pm daily, the cheapest way in before you commit to the full tasting-menu tab.

Went for lunch and cocktail happy hour Sunday. Sat at the bar was greeted by friendly hostess and bartenders. Bartenders made excellent recommendations, service was fast, attentive, and the food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced for the quality and freshness. Will be a regular here for sure.

Very good sister restaurant to Uchi. The food was all good and the service was also good. They do get busy/slammed during prime time so reserve and plan to linger. Some time between orders isn’t really a fair criticism in my opinion as they get absolutely hammered on the weekends. 11 plates tried over 2.5 hours. Very good for gluten free as well.

Incredible experience and I can’t wait to go again. Food was so delicious and the staff was knowledgeable of the menu and kind. The wagyu hot rock was so delicious. I’m not one to cook my own meat, but they brought it out on this cool hot rock and the deliciousness of the meat made it all worth it! I’m excited to eat here again !!!

We were there for the happy hour omakase but we thought happy hour is from 2-6 but it was from 4-6. We instead got sushi omakase for my hubby's advance birthday celebration. They gave us a free sushi p38 and it was amazing! This was our first time but we will surely come back again.

We stopped in on a random afternoon looking for a quick lunch. After a few bites, that quick lunch turned into a few more bites and a few more bites. The staff was great. They were all very friendly and helpful with recommendations. It was on the pricier side, but no complaints as everything was delicious.
