The Strip's only Black-owned bookstore, back after a forced close

R.D. Talley Books is the only Black-owned bookstore on the Strip, and it almost didn't make it. A lease at the Forum Shops ran out in May 2026 with no renewal, and locals mourned it like a landmark closing.

Founder Roderick Talley reopened weeks later on the second level of Fashion Show Mall. It's open seven days a week. The shelves center Black authors and characters across every genre. Tourists and regulars both keep finding it.

Good to know

• Open 10am to 9pm daily, an easy add-on if you're already at Fashion Show Mall.
