Mish

★ 4.4 · 111 reviews Los Angeles Opened June 2026

A new-wave Jewish deli on La Brea, cooking across the diaspora.

Mish opened on South La Brea in June 2026, run by the former chef of The Foundry (and, briefly, the Tesla Diner). It calls itself a delicatessen but the menu roams well past the Ashkenazi standard.

Wood-fired bagels come with whitefish; shakshuka arrives with a side of challah; the house-smoked pastrami reuben is griddled in schmaltz on rye. Open daily 8am to 5pm, walk-ins only.

Good to know

  • Walk-ins only, 8am to 5pm daily, it's a daytime deli, not a dinner spot.

Loved the dining experience at Mish! Ambiance is charming and love the natural light that gets let in. Service is top notch! Staff are attentive and helpful with guiding you upon entering by handing you menus and pointing out the self serve pastry section where you can grab your treats before you head the counter to order. While ordering there is a designated staff member helping you and discuss any items. Food arrives promptly at the table and staff check in for any needs and Chef Greenspan also comes by as well. Food is so fresh and everything is packed full of flavor in a delicate way. Nothing felt heavy, just vibrant with bursts of comforting flavors. Our table had the shakshuka in a hole, which was a fresh take on shakshuka and delightful rendition of eggs in a hole. The shakshuka had deep flavor and the eggs were perfectly runny. We also tried the bagel dog, latkes, marinated egg plant, and deli platter with brisket, pastrami, mac salad and potato salad. The meats were tender and melted in your mouth. The sides were the best part! Loved the unique flavors compared to the traditional concepts of mac and potato salads. The black and white cookie was a soft crumb and not too sweet! Really enjoyed the raspberry filling of the hamanstaschen. Honestly cannot wait to go back and try new items and enjoy the favorites again!

Really cool spot - you don’t always associate “hip” with a Jewish deli, but it is. Pastrami was great - personally I would like to see it a little more marbled and tender - but delicious - not giant, kind of small - but delicious. Nice folks - looking forward to going back and exploring more. Brisket sample was delicious. Great concept loved the place. Everyone know s the standard of pastrami in NYC - it was there, but best maybe in LA! I’ll be back for more tasty fun! *I would ask the chef to consider adding a little tin bowl of Katz type of both style of pickles and of course a kosher hot dog unless I missed it on the menu. Cole slaw - which I love was “good” not amazing - I think it can go back a little OG style IMHO. Overall - great place and tasty food!

Absolutely amazing. This was our first time trying Mish and it definitely won’t be our last. We ordered the Reuben on rye and the Cobb salad, which you can get chopped and tossed in the poppy seed dressing. The carved pastrami on the Reuben was seriously the best I’ve had in LA. It was so tender, flavorful, and packed with meat. The Cobb salad was just as good. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and we added grilled chicken, which was cooked perfectly. The poppy seed dressing was so delicious and brought the whole salad together. You also have to try the Dirty Matcha and the Pomegranate Iced Green Tea. Both were so refreshing and the perfect addition to the meal. The service was outstanding and the vibes were definitely there. Great food, great drinks, and an all around great experience. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.
