Sandeomi Hamjipark

★ 4.4 · 36 reviews Los Angeles Opened Opening date unknown

Koreatown's best pork ribs, back after the original closed.

Hamjipark ran on 6th Street for more than thirty years, built entirely on grilled pork ribs in a gochujang marinade, and closed abruptly at the end of 2025 along with its Pico Boulevard sibling. Sixth Avenue Hospitality, a Koreatown group, took the site over and reopened it as Sandeomi Hamjipark.

Sandeomi means a heap or mountain of something, which is a fair description of the portions. The interior has been freshened up; the ribs come off the grill the same way, smoky and charred with caramelised edges, now with a spicy version next to the original.

Good to know

  • Open 5pm to 10pm daily. The pork ribs are the order, everything else is a side.

This place is goated and Jay is the best waiter. He knows ball. Not even kidding. Ribs— goated.

We had a party for 8- team was super accommodating. Had to wait a bit longer for a table to open up. In the mean time the staff offered us water and a place to sit 💖 Had been to Ham ji pak many times years ago. Once seated the service was fast and great. Delicious salad and, banchan , soondubu, pajeon.

This used to be one of my go-to spots when I lived in the area, so I made the drive all the way from Long Beach to try it again after they reopened. We came in around 8 p.m. and were seated right away. We ordered the signature pork ribs, which is what most people come here for. When our rice arrived, we expected the ribs to follow shortly after, but we ended up waiting about 20 minutes. The server apologized and let us know it would be another 10–15 minutes, offering to comp our beer for the wait. After another 15 minutes with no ribs, they checked in again and said they would be out in about 5 minutes. Around that time, the manager came over, apologized for the delay, and offered us one of their signature side dishes on the house. I had actually been wanting to try one of their stews, so it worked out perfectly. Once the ribs arrived, they were just as flavorful as I remembered. While the wait was longer than expected, I really appreciated how both the server and manager went above and beyond to make things right. That level of customer service goes a long way. Safe to say the drive from Long Beach was still worth it, and I'll definitely be back.

This was my first time coming to Ham Ji Park after they re-opened. The ribs were highly anticipated and they did not disappoint. We came around an hour before closing so the service was a little slow but understandable. We would definitely come back.
