Socceria

A soccer bar that actually cooks

Forget stadium nachos. The team behind Taqueria Ramirez launched Socceria timed to the World Cup, and the kitchen matches the fixtures for ambition.

Chilaquiles, sopes and quesadillas come out alongside draft beer, a real step up from standard sports-bar cooking. The screens are the point, but the kitchen is not an alibi.

Good to know

  • Timed to the World Cup. Expect it full on match days.

Just stopped in for the France vs Spain game and had the best happy hour burger and margarita! The Ramirez burger is like a pastor taco and a burger had a baby 🤤 If you’re in greenpoint definitely stop in here for the good every and even better food 🔥

Despite some of the negative reviews, my husband and I still decided to give this place a try, and I’m so glad we did. We went to watch a World Cup game on a weekday during work hours, so it wasn’t too crowded. We arrived a few minutes before they opened and were able to grab seats at the bar right away, though the place filled up quickly. The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was great. It’s not easy to find a sports bar with food and drinks this good. I’ll definitely be back, even after the World Cup is over.

I rarely complain, but I had a pretty negative service experience here. The female bartender on duty spent the entire night ignoring patrons to chat in the corner with her male friend. When I tried to place an order, she refused me with a curt tone, saying 'I’m not going to take any orders from over here’, instead of kindly just directing me to where I should order from. Instead of explaining that I can’t order food while standing, she rudely dismissed me saying 'order from anyone else but me’. Then finally someone explained you CAN order food at the bar area, you just need to be seated at a stool. I don’t appreciate the attitude and acting like im an inconvenience to you while you’re at work! Thankfully another male bartender saved the night and got us seated and explained things kindly. We were able to order food - which was delicious. The frijoles and cheese were fantastic. The chicken with pepita sauce was also a stand out. I recommend management give some feedback for this individual to improve her service and behavior. I nearly left because of it. Thank you to the other bartender who was genuinely kind and gracious!
