Handmade pasta and horse decor on Division

Fantino turns a small dining room on SE Division Street into one of Portland's best date-night bets. The name comes from the running-horse theme that covers the walls, an odd pairing with the handmade pasta and cocktails that actually anchor the menu.

It landed in a year when six or seven new Italian spots opened around Portland, and it's still the one people book ahead for. The room seats only a few dozen, so don't just show up.
