Tapas by day, listening bar by night, on Adams Avenue

Nómade opened at 3027 Adams Avenue in Normal Heights in March 2025, running as a cafe from 10am and turning into something closer to a listening bar after dark.

The owner built the sound system himself after traveling through Japan, and he's clear about one thing: this isn't a club, it runs on ambience, not volume. The wine list leans natural and biodynamic, the cocktails favor flavor over strength, and there's a real low-ABV section. Open to 11pm on weekdays, 1am on weekends.

Glad I came in! The wait at An’s was so long I decided to grab a quick bite beforehand. Nomade was right next door and it was the perfect spot. They serve tapas and some main entrees and even a smash burger and fries if the Spanish cuisine isn’t what you are craving. Service was excellent and atmosphere was pretty cool. They feature a ton of records on shelves with simple and a slick design. The food and drinks were delicious! My smash burger was juicy and just the right amount of condiments! Overall a fun spot and would recommend!

I can’t wait to come back here in the evening because the daytime vibe was already too perfect and cool. The person working was very friendly and helped me pick out the house favorite coffee. This would be a great spot to read or study or just chill if you want a calm, airy and bright environment. The design in here is great

We came for dinner after wanting to come for months, and we’re so happy we finally checked it out! Delicious and great authentic Spanish / Basque spot! Our server Josué was SO amazing! He was so friendly and made us feel so comfortable. The shishito peppers, Jamon Iberico, crispy fried rice, patatas bravas, spicy Caesar, and basque cheesecake were all amazing! Meatballs were just ok, would reco trying a different main. Great wines (and they even give you tastings to try first) and they have Vermut on draft! Can’t find that anywhere in the US and only in Spain. Such a great authentic spot! Feels like we are back in Spain. Great atmosphere as well with the beautiful design inside and the records playing. We will absolutely be back soon!

Solid spot, cool vibe! We ordered: freddo cappucino whole milk $5.65 freddo cappucino oat milk $6.65 freddo espresso $4.50 ea $1 surcharge for oat milk is pretty high I personally had the freddo espresso. It has a bit of sweetness, so it is definitely super easy to drink! Quite a bit of seating inside and dog friendly! Staff is friendly as well too. Cool DJ set inside...I'm sure they throw some fun events!

This is my second time here and I absolutely love it. The coffee is phenomenal. The first time I came, I got the brown sugar latte, and today I ordered the same thing but added the pistachio cold foam. The cold foam was life-changing. Their breakfast burrito comes with chipotle and cilantro aioli. Both are good, but the cilantro aioli is my favorite. It’s so good. We also tried the huevos rotos and the serrano pesto sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and really flavorful. One thing I love is that they change parts of their menu periodically. For example, the pistachio cold foam is only available this month. It makes it fun to come back and try new things. The staff is always friendly, and the overall vibe is great. I still need to come back and try their dinner menu, but so far I highly recommend this place for coffee, breakfast, or brunch.
