The French patisserie takes a second address inside the Transamerica Pyramid
Maison Nico opened a second location inside the Transamerica Pyramid in June 2026, joining a redevelopment that's slowly turning the building's base into somewhere the public actually goes. The original shop, from Nicolas Delaroque and Andrea Delaroque, has been doing pâté en croûte and French pastry near Jackson Square since 2020.
The Pyramid's ground floor and garden reopened after a long renovation, and tenants have been arriving in stages. This is one of the more recognizable names among them.

i chose this as a spot to get a quick bite to eat with my boyfriend, and he was really happy to see the selection of pate. it wasnt really my thing, but he said it was one of the best things he ate this visit. i ordered a quiche and a drink that i didn’t love, but he enjoyed his pate and his coffee was good too, so i averaged it to 5 stars :-)

This place is devine! I’ve seen nothing like it- not even close- except in Paris. Try anything and everything! NOT a cheap date but neither are YOU!! Your visit here will be spectacular. Bring a dear friend for a cappuccino and whatever else strikes your fancy. Arrive early for pastries- they often run out quite early. Arrive late for lunch- the place is small and you will be more likely to get a small table after 1:30 or 2:00 p.m. XO, Free Coyote

Yum! A colleague brought in a selection of pastries from Maison Nico, and everything we tried was delicious. The croissant was especially good, flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked, and the bread was just as impressive. Overall, a great spot for high quality pastries, and definitely one I would go back to.

Pastries sell out fast by noon on the weekends. Always a line out the door. Their croissants are alright but their quiche is very good. Definitely recommend! Loved the burnt crispy edges of flaky crust paired with the custardy egg. It was filling but didn’t feel heavy on the stomach. Got the regular size, not mini. Lots of seating outside during the summer. Only 4 tables and one bathroom stall inside. Also got a slice of the croissant loaf. Liked the caramelization on top of the loaf but nothing special. Felt too much like a brioche.

To no surprise, there was already a line when I arrived at 9:20am Sunday. Not too bad though, it took about 10 minutes to get inside the bakery and peruse the goods. Everything looked picturesque and delectable. I was in a rush that morning so I snagged one plain croissant, which I read rave reviews about. No seats available but I found standing room at a long counter. It was a very delicious croissant. Flaky, buttery, and soft. Wish I had time to try everything else.
