A Townsend Street bar that runs on the Caltrain schedule
Bar Malone's opened on Townsend Street in June 2026, two blocks from the Caltrain terminus at Fourth and King, inside the belt of brick warehouses that fills and empties with the train timetable. It's an American bar with food, built around that rhythm rather than against it.
This stretch of SoMa lost most of its bar trade when office attendance dropped. The places reopening here are betting on ballpark nights and commuters, not a neighbourhood crowd. On a Giants evening the whole street turns into somewhere else.

Awesome new space that’s been open for just a few months. Come here before it’s discovered. Cocktails are amazing, and our server “Sam” was very sweet and helpful. She informed us about the history of the building and the theme of the place. Very chill vibes, some place you can grab drinks, snacks and catch up with friends. We did not get to try out the food but our snacks were very very good. 10/10 would recommend.

Class act. You could just tell the people running this place have deep experience and have brought great recipes from places past with them. Oysters were divine.

Amazing food and drinks on Townsend for watching the game or just hanging out. The space is beautiful and the service is friendly. Great addition to the neighborhood.
