Dumplings on the Lombard Street motel strip, open since July 2026
Dumpling Patio took over a corner unit at 2499 Lombard in July 2026, on a stretch that's mostly motels, gas stations, and traffic heading for the bridge. Nobody walks here for dinner. A dumpling house on this block is a bet on the neighborhood behind it, not on passing trade.
The kitchen runs the standard northern Chinese repertoire, dumplings first. The address has a small patio, unusual on a road this loud, and that's where the name comes from.

Food is good but service on Saturday night was a DISASTER. I waited 15 minutes to place an order, in the meantime people who came after me got their order placed already, why?? Food came out fast (or rather 2/3 of the order). One dish did not come out for another hour. No one stopped for the whole hour to ask if we're doing OK, it was just impossible to get server's attention. Finally, after asking 3 times the 3rd dish was served. Also, needed to ask for chopsticks and it took another 10 minutes to get them. Soy sauce I asked for never arrived to the table... I would not come back.

Went during the soft opening and it was so worth it! The food was delicious and the staff were extremely kind.
