Jacques Larson's oyster bar hidden under The Douglas

A basement door in a boutique hotel opens onto Savannah's most talked-about new room. James Beard nominee Jacques Larson built Lester's to feel like a secret extension of The Douglas rather than its own restaurant, all oysters, seafood and French-leaning plates under low light.

Cocktails lean seasonal, the room stays small, and most weekend nights come with a wait list. Go on a weeknight if you want a seat without the queue.
