The Darling Oyster Bar

Charleston's oyster favorite lands in Savannah
Raw oysters, cold beer and a room that skips the fuss: Savannah finally gets its own Darling Oyster Bar. The Charleston original built a following on King Street, and this Montgomery Street spot brings the same coastal, unpolished look.
Seafood anchors the menu, oysters especially. Local food writers had been waiting on this crossing-state-lines move for a while, and it's easy to see why.

We went to celebrate our friend's 49th birthday and had good food, beverages, atmosphere and service. Heather provided great guidance on food choices and shared fun energy with us as we enjoyed our evening. The raw oysters, salmon dip, crab cakes were spectacular! The decor reminded us of The Grey - very beautiful. Great night!

We stopped in for Happy Hour and was not disappointed. The oysters were fresh, Emily was ah-mazing, explained the different types of oysters, gave cocktail recommendations and made us feel so welcomed. Her bright and bubbly disposition was contagious. Shuckers were hard at work and made the experience even more enjoyable by offering us a taste of the Salt Bomb. He told us the oysters were local, so of course we ordered some! Definitely will return, just hope Emily will be there.

We got into Savannah a Tuesday early afternoon. After checking into our Hotel we decided to grab an early dinner. We wanted local flavors so we headed to The Darling. We sat on the raw bar . They have a nice happy hour from 4-6pm . We devoured $1 oysters (18) along with cocktail shrimp. We also enjoyed some tuna ceviche and we split a shrimp/fish fry basket. Everything was incredibly fresh.Service was friendly and effocient. I highly recommend it.

Came here with a friend and left thoroughly impressed. The dollar oysters during happy hour are a steal, and the drinks held up just as well. The whole menu looked fantastic, but we went with the fried chicken and the seared scallops, and both were some of the best we’ve ever had. The vibe is relaxed and easy, exactly what you want for a long dinner. Our server, Alyssa, made the night even better. She was attentive, offered great suggestions, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend.

Managed to grab a reservation on Friday night for 3. It smelled fresh inside. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I enjoyed several raw oysters and the fried chicken which were both wonderful. My party greatly enjoyed the shrimp and grits which had a rich buttery Cajun flavor. We both had one drink. We would come again for sure.
