Bottega Gabriele goes downstairs and does pasta
Bottega Gabriele made its name on Italian sandwiches. In May 2026 the same people opened Casa Gabriele in a Pioneer Square basement, this time built around pasta.
Meatballs to start, caesar, pork ragu, a short list done properly. It's the dressed-up sibling, and the bar seats are the best in the room.

Local family owned and family style Italian restaurant based on one of the owners’ Sicilian grandmas recipes. The food was fantastic and as it should be. High quality bright, sweet and just a little sour tomatoes, perfectly al dente pasta, and mozzarella the way I ate it as a kid. This is the best traditional Italian restaurant in the entire Seattle metro area.

Felt like I was back in Florence in a rustic underground atmosphere. Carefully curated and incredibly delicious. The pastas were the stand out, but you can’t go wrong with anything. Nice wine selection. Will definitely be back to enjoy a nice, truly Italian meal with friends and family.

We had an amazing experience at this Italian restaurant in Seattle. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care. What really made the evening special, though, was the owner. He is such a wonderful person so warm, sociable, and genuinely friendly. He made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we walked in. You can really tell he puts his heart into both the food and the atmosphere. On top of that, it’s very budget-friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great Italian cuisine and a memorable dining experience!

This is a basement restaurant in pioneer square, but even so the restaurant is warm and friendly; kinda like eating in someone's wine cellar. I've been here a few times, and it does not disappoint. The staff are definitely ironing out the kinks (the restaurant has been open for less than two weeks) and the menu is still changing a little bit, but the food is absolutely incredible, with large portions, with a wonderful selection of wines that pair very well with the food.
