The chopped cheese is why you come. Bubbi Burger brought the New York bodega sandwich, plus halal smashed patties and golden fries, to Tampa's busiest dinner strip.

It's open seven nights a week and clearly built for the after-bar crowd that already floods South Howard on weekends. Halal was missing on a strip stacked with pizza and regular burgers, and this fills that gap.

I didn’t think it was scientifically possible to make a burger patty as thin as their patties are. They’re basically paper thin. The patty was also very dry due to being so thin, and a lot of the meat was also very crispy due to the thinness. I had eaten a big lunch the day I went and was grabbing a quick dinner, so I only got a single burger. I thought it was a decent price when I ordered but once I saw how little beef there was, if anything, it’s overpriced. The portion was so tiny. I wish I had gotten a triple, but even that probably wouldn’t have filled me up, and I have a pretty small appetite. The flavors were good, and I like the potato bun and sauce, but the meat was dry and not juicy at all. I got the spicy and I thought it came with onion but mine only had jalapeño on it. I live in NYC and go to 7th Street once a week, and there’s a noticeable difference in quality and quantity. I understand a smash burger is supposed to be thinner but I’ve had plenty of smash burgers at various stores and this is the thinnest one yet.

Fiiiiire food! I will never understand how a food truck can make a burger taste better than all the burger joints in Tampa… this needs to be a franchise or more of the same food truck I have officially tried everything on their menu and everything slaps. Personal favourite is the truffle burger, the crispy onions on that burger and the double smash Pattie’s is a great savoury taste.

We stopped in at 9:59 PM when they close at 10 and he still got his right to the amazing customer service at Bubby’s in the great food that spicy Bubby burger was gas.

Wow. This place is amazing. One of the best burgers I’ve eaten. Guys running it were super friendly. Great stop for family. Everyone left HAPPY.
