Modern Mexican with hand-pressed tortillas from whole corn

The tortillas here are made from scratch, whole corn ground into masa and hand-pressed to order. That kind of detail runs through the whole menu of tostadas, tacos and mains at this Seminole Heights spot from Chef Taylor Dillon and Kayla Chang.

It filled a real gap on North Florida Avenue, chef-driven Mexican food instead of the casual taco counters Tampa was used to. The happy hour menu has become a draw of its own.

From the moment we walked in the service was top tier. The drinks and food menu did not disappoint. It was a pleasant surprise to see a selection of Mexican wines as well as balanced tequila and mezcal cocktails. The food is authentically Mexican and delicious. My photos do not do justice to the steak enchiladas and tetelas that we ordered.

Con Amor in Tampa was such a fun experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is stylish, cozy, and inviting, making it a great spot for a date night, happy hour, or dinner with friends. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We started with the Soft Serve Espresso Martini, and it was easily one of the most unique cocktails we’ve had. The creamy soft serve paired perfectly with the rich espresso flavor, creating a smooth, indulgent drink that doubles as dessert. For food, the Smoked Brisket Tacos were outstanding. The brisket was incredibly tender and smoky, packed with flavor in every bite, and the fresh toppings balanced everything perfectly. The Tostadas were equally delicious, featuring crispy texture, fresh ingredients, and bold flavors that made them impossible to stop eating. To finish, we ordered the Horchata Panna Cotta, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Silky, creamy, and infused with warm cinnamon and horchata flavors, it was light while still being incredibly satisfying. If you’re looking for one of the best restaurants in Tampa with creative cocktails, flavorful Mexican-inspired dishes, and excellent service, Con Amor is definitely worth visiting. Everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend ordering the Soft Serve Espresso Martini, Smoked Brisket Tacos, Tostadas, and the Horchata Panna Cotta!

Absolutely amazing! You can tell the owners poured so much heart, passion, and attention to detail into this place. The food was out of this world, but the best part of our experience was the service. Patricia and Hannah were absolutely incredible—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. 10/10 experience. We will definitely be back!

Love this place so much!! The food was fantastic and the soft serve margarita is one of the most unique and fun drinks I’ve ever had. Grace gives the best service! I recommend sitting at the bar.
