Cuban food served the way your abuela would
Skip the individual plates. Isla Bella does Cuban food family-style, big shareable platters instead of one plate per person, which is closer to how the food actually gets eaten at home than most Cuban spots in Tampa.
It's become enough of a draw near the university that the restaurant added Monday and Tuesday service, days it didn't open at all when it first launched. One more reason the area north of downtown finally has a Cuban option beyond the usual Nebraska Avenue names.

Islabella Restaurant is an absolute gem! The Cuba Libre was my favorite drink perfectly made. The Tostones Rellenos de Camarones were the best appetizer I’ve had in ages, and both the fried snapper and grilled salmon were seasoned to perfection. The ambience is amazing, and the customer service is truly unmatched probably the best I’ve had anywhere in Florida. You have to come try it for yourself!
