Ocho Trece Restaurant

Global small plates named for Tampa's own area code

Ocho Trece doesn't stick to one country's menu. It jumps between cuisines with shareable small plates built to keep moving across the table, fast enough for a group that can't agree on one thing.

It sits at the edge of North Hyde Park, an easy walk from Armature Works or Hyde Park Village. This is the second location for a concept the owners already proved elsewhere in Tampa, closed Sundays.

Amazing food and a great atmosphere. I’m wary when ordering my salads with a protein at most restaurants- but they really made it a meal versus just some greens with a sliced chicken breast on it! We also tried the Korean pulled pork empanada special, those with the oxtail croquettes were melt in your mouth. 100% recommend!

Accidentally found our new neighborhood favorite. 🤍 We stopped in on a whim and were honestly surprised by how good everything was. The menu is Spanish-inspired with a few Asian influences, and every dish we tried was a hit. The steak was especially impressive—such great quality for the price. The chimichurri wasn’t our favorite, but that might just be because we’re spoiled by our Argentinian friends. 😊 We loved it so much that we came back the very next day to catch the World Cup and try their game special. They also offer unique chef specials on the weekends that change every week. The complimentary popcorn with rotating flavors is such a fun touch (don’t skip it!) and while they don’t serve hard liquor, they have a great wine selection and creative sake- and wine-based cocktails. The music deserves a mention too. It’s laid-back lounge house that adds to the atmosphere without taking over the room—exactly the kind of playlist that makes you want to order another glass of wine and stay a little longer. We also had a chance to meet one of the founders, who made us feel genuinely welcome. Ever since our favorite neighborhood spot closed, we’ve been hoping to find another place that feels just as easy to drop into, whether it’s for dinner or drinks. This feels like that kind of place. We’ll definitely be regulars.🤍

Delicious elevated food. Ordered the croquettes, steak, vegetables, carbonera, cheescake for desert. Incredible experience. Owner is warm and friendly, the music and ambiance is truly great. Easily one of the best spots in Tampa. Their chef and culinary are truly remarkable.
