New American plates on the site of a Hyde Park favorite
South Howard needed a proper date-night restaurant again, and The Landon is it. Restaurateur Michael Stewart rebuilt the address that fire took from Hyde Park in 2024, naming the new place after his son and handing the kitchen to Executive Chef Robert Hesse.
The menu leans New American with global touches, but the scallops are the dish people keep talking about. On a strip full of casual spots, this is the polished one to book ahead for.

I’m just hitting the jackpot lately with trying restaurants I haven’t had a chance to get to and they just knock it out of the park!!! Let’s discuss The Landon, shall we? Server: Edinson Ambience: Fresh, inviting, beautiful bar I’ll have my next meal at. Chic and comfortable. We had the Tuna Tartare Cannolis & Thai Coconut Curry Mussels for starters. The punch and mouthful of flavors were beautifully paired and presentation was 5 stars. For our entree, I chose the crab cake because I was full and my friend got the grouper. We shared a side of brussels sprouts and the whipped feta that it came with, was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Before I get to dessert, I have to give the corn spoon bread and corn velouté on the grouper its own spotlight — outrageous! To finish things off, we got the toffee cake. Don’t worry, it has zero calories, so you can eat it guilt free. 😉 Service by Edinson was everything you would hope your experience would be! Until next time!! Thank you for a great night!

One of the best dining experiences we've had! The hospitality is outstanding! We drove from Jupiter, FL just to try this place and couldn't be happier we did. From the moment we arrived, everyone was welcoming, warm, and kind. There was even a handwritten note waiting at our table thanking us for dining with them. Valet was great, the hostess was just as welcoming, and our server Brandon was beyond perfect all night long. He was knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely helpful steering us toward the right dishes for us. The food was a 10/10 and the drinks were just as good. Every single person on the team was a pleasure to talk to. At the end of the night they also surprised us with a Landon hat, which everyone at our table was blown away with. One person in our group liked it so much she went back the very next night since she lives in Tampa. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fantastic hospitality and a great night out. I'll be back every time I'm in the area!

I had an amazing experience at The Landon! The food was absolutely incredible—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to come back. The service made the experience even better. The bar staff, (girls squad) Kayla, Chloe, and Victoria, were outstanding. They were welcoming, attentive, and made the atmosphere so much fun. Their friendly personalities and excellent service truly set this place apart. Between the gorgeous space, amazing food, and outstanding staff, The Landon is definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. We can’t recommend it enough!

I had a wonderful experience visiting The Landon last night. I remember when 717 South was such a well-known restaurant in Tampa for many years before it sadly burned, and I’m so happy to see that The Landon has emerged in its place as one of Tampa’s most exciting and delicious new restaurants. After trying to get a reservation with my friend for the last 2½ months and constantly seeing it booked, I now completely understand why! The service was exceptional. Catie and the wonderful lady assisting her made us feel so welcomed and taken care of throughout the entire evening. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out. We started with the Rosé Cosmos, which had such an interesting and unique flavor profile. Personally, I loved their Bailey’s Espresso Martinis more ~ they were delicious. For dinner, we shared several dishes so we could experience different flavors: the scallops, Thai coconut curry mussels, and crab cake. Everything was tasty, with such a creative balance of savory and sweet flavors. The scallops especially were a standout ~ beautifully prepared and full of flavor. For dessert, we enjoyed the sticky pudding with a side of ice cream covered in cookie crumble and caramel popcorn + nuts, and it was the perfect way to finish the evening. A special thank you to the hostess, Michelle, who went out of her way to help me secure a reservation for next week so my husband and I can come back and he can experience this amazing new addition to Tampa’s dining scene. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. I love the open-floor design where you can see the kitchen from the main dining room, plus they have a smaller dining room for a quieter experience and another more private dining area near the bathrooms. The entire restaurant is thoughtfully designed and has such a warm, elegant feel.

Divine experience at the Landon this weekend. This upscale concept is from a Chef that was on Hells Kitchen! They do everything right here, from amazing service to perfect food. This place is a perfect spot for a date night or special occasion. We didn’t have a reservation and were lucky to get a seat. We were sat in a small intimate back area that was actually super nice. Our server (I believe Anthony?) was amazing. Walked us through the menu and checked in with us every step of the way. His service was above and beyond, and you could tell he truly cared and had a passion in what he did. The food was so so sooooo good. The French roasted chicken was to die for. Normally I steer away from restaurant chicken because it’s boring. But wow, was this next level. So rich and tender, as were the roasted carrots. We also had the tuna cannoli app, the pull apart bread, and side of lobster Mac and cheese. All were amazing!! Dare I say that’s the best restaurant bread I’ve ever had?! The sticky toffee cake was scrumptious for dessert and the drinks were so fresh and flavorful. My kiwi margarita basically looked like a bubble bath! (Aperol foam) How fun haha. The Landon is not a cheap experience by any means but well worth it. Make sure to get a reservation if you can and order that chicken and bread!!
