A real steakhouse finally lands in Ybor City

Ybor's nightlife strip just got a serious dinner option. Tommy's Chophouse fills a landmark Seventh Avenue building with the steakhouse classics that had all but vanished from the neighborhood, thoughtfully sourced beef cooked simply, no gimmicks.

Opening weekend booked out completely, a rare feat for a district known more for bars than tasting menus. Kenneth Emery's bet is that Ybor can hold its own as a dining destination, not just a nightclub strip.

The team and the food at Tommy’s Chophouse is the best of the best. We stumbled upon this newly opened establishment upon our first visit to Ybor City. We were in Tampa for two nights and after eating here the first night we just had to come back the following night. I literally thought about this place all day. I could not wait to come back and do it all again. Phillip is a thoughtful, personable, knowledgeable, and an incredibly attentive sever. Ken’s passion for his craft and what he puts on each table is the forefront of what makes this place so special. He personally selects each cut of steak and ensures only the very best gets served to you. The team working for him truly supports and admires what Ken is trying to achieve. You can tell they have a passion for what they get to serve. You see it in every interaction with every single guest. You will not find a better steakhouse with such intimate, high touch service with a personable touch. When you’re here, you’re not just a customer, you’re a welcome friend. This is our special place. We will be regulars here and will bring others to get to share this out of this world culinary experience.

We just had a wonderful personalized dining experience. The staff was amamaIng and the food was seasoned to perfection (filet, mash potatoes, asparagus, salad, shrimp cocktail) Thank you Philip foengoing above and beyond. Christina is the general manager and she is phenomenal. We can't wait to come back.
